Volunteer Training for Samaritans: Given by the Tucson Samaritans
"Inspiring." "Educational." "Wished I'd gone a long time ago." This was the report from three Green Valley/Sahuarita Samaritans who attended the March 2nd afternoon training at Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson. The sessions, given by the founders of the Tucson Samaritans, include history, First Aid, safety, discussion of Border Patrol interactions, legalities of humanitarian work and other migrant issues. Whether you plan to go on Searches or not, it's a great opportunity for Samaritan regulars to get a refresher and newcomers to learn from the veterans. Questions are welcome and there is literature to take away.Trainings are usually given the first Sunday afternoon of each month. Learn more at www.tucsonsamaritans.org or email [email protected].
